Billy Garthel Morrison

Billy Garthel Morrison, 82, of Piedmont, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Piedmont Health Care Center.   Born in Piedmont, Calhoun Co., AL, to James Hoyt and Dorothy Moden Phillips Morrison, he was of the Baptist Faith.

 He served his country in the US Navy and returned to work as a mechanic at Anniston Army Depot. He was an active member of The American Legion and Odd Fellows until his health declined.

He is survived by sons: Kevin (Holly) Morrison and Brian Keith Morrison; daughters: Kelly (Jimmy) Rogers and Sonya Pike; brother:  Brent (Marsha) Morrison; sister: Susan Anderson; six grandchildren: Holli (Brandon) Masters, Tiffani (Brandon) Reynolds, Madison Morrison, Ava Morrison, Emilee Morrison Savannah Rogers, and Kimberly Nicholson; three great grandchildren: Brindlee Masters, Holden Masters and Kamryn Reynolds; and  several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 2:00 pm from Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation from 1-2 PM.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Dr. Edward Blackwelder will officiate.   Pallbearers will be Cale Morrison, Blake Morrison, Brandon Lane, Madison Morrison, Danny Beavers, and Mason Freeman.
