BOBBY TROY SMITH, 91, of Anniston, AL passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his home after a long illness of Dementia.
Bobby was born August 6, 1929 in Chosea Springs, AL to the late William and Ezzie Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Ada Floy Ponder Smith, and his second wife, Sara Wheeler Smith; a brother, Huey Dothard Smith; and two sons in law: Terry Van Farmer and Charles Howard Hanson.
Bobby retired from Anniston Army Depot after 27 years of service. He was the founder and previous owner of Smith Jeep Parts. He was a member of Lozahatchie Lodge #97, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
He was a good, hard-working man who loved the Lord, his family, farming, and the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Donna Farmer, Susan Hanson, Cathy Ray (Sam) and Ronald Smith (Teresa); grandchildren: Dawn Mullis (David), Julia Johnson (Tony), Heather Farmer, Landon Smith, Christopher Ray and Haley Smith; great grandchildren: Jared Mullis (Amanda), Colton Mullis, Maggie Johnson, Katelyn Willingham (Philip), Madison Johnson, and Maddox Brown; one great, great grandson: Luke Walker Mullis; two caregivers: Stacie Reynolds and Susan King; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for their loving care.
Services will be Tuesday, March 9 at 2:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Hayward Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 12 – 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Nances Creek Cemetery.
