Piedmont

Bonnie L. Rainey, a cherished business owner and beloved member of the Piedmont community, elegantly graced this world from January 27, 1948, until her passing on February 16, 2025. Born in the quaint yet vibrant enclave of Piedmont, Alabama, Bonnie's life was a tapestry woven with kindness, creativity, and an unwavering spirit.

In her career as a cosmetologist and beautician, she not only transformed the appearances of her clients but also touched their hearts with her warm and welcoming demeanor. Her beauty shop became a gathering place where laughter mingled with beauty—a sanctuary where many found friendship as well as style.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly the culinary arts, where she created delectable meals and baked goods that brought happiness to all who shared them. Her love for redecorating kept her home a beautiful and ever-changing reflection of her vibrant personality. With a gentle hand and a welcoming smile, Bonnie cultivated an environment filled with warmth and comfort.

Though she will be profoundly missed, Bonnie’s legacy of joy, kindness, and creativity lives on. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Leo H. Reynolds and Mae Omie Reynolds, who undoubtedly instilled in her the values that defined her life.

Her survivors, include her devoted husband, Raymond Rainey, as well as her Brothers: Billy and Larry Reynolds; Sisters: Sylvia Reynolds and Bobbi Monge; Grandnephews: Zachary and David Dutton; and Grandniece: Chandice Dutton Trantham. Each held a special place in her heart, and her love for them was evident in the way she nurtured their bonds. Bonnie's cherished memories of her loyal pet dog, Prissy, underscore her capacity for love and companionship.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on February 19, 2025, officiated by Rev. Ted Anderson, at 2:00 PM at Goshen Valley Cemetery in Piedmont, Alabama, where family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well-lived, marked by compassion, artistry, and an indelible love for those fortunate enough to call her family and friend.

Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Rainey Family.
