Charles Johnny Gossett, Sr.

CHARLES JOHNNY GOSSETT, SR., 75, of Piedmont, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his residence.   Mr. Gossett was born in Piedmont to Charles Edward and Evelyn Kiser Gossett, who preceded him in death. 

Mr. Gossett was a farmer and mechanic for the City of Piedmont.  He was one that always had a joke or kept some foolishness going.  A hard worker, who was loved and respected by many, he was proud to be a grandfather and great grandfather.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Karen Hammett Gossett; a son: Jeffery Gossett; a daughter: Michele Clontz; brother: Gerald Gossett; and sister: Patsy Gossett.  

Survivors include his son: Charles Johnny Gossett, Jr. and wife, Vickie; daughter: Rebecca Hayes and husband, David; and two sisters: Charlotte Hilton and Monza Holiday; grandchildren: Tiffany Easterwood (Josh), Heather Gossett, John Lontz, Marissa Williams (Matthew), Andrew Hayes, Alex Hayes, Sophi Hayes, Lela Hayes, Nora Hayes, Jeremiah Ashley, Kayla Green and Amber Newman; chosen grandchild: Mandy Kelley (Jeremy); and 17 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Michael Dunbar and Eddie Lindsey officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until funeral time. Burial will follow in Gnatville Cemetery with Austin, Mark, Dewayne and Dusty Cobb, Jeremiah Ashley, John Lontz and Josh Easterwood serving as pallbearers. The family will receive flowers or donations may be made to Inhabit Hospice.
