Claude William Heard

Claude William Heard, 78, a lifetime resident of Piedmont, AL passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.  He was born to Bill and Gladys Fortenberry Heard    and married to Tommie Jewell Smith Heard. His parents preceded him in death, as well as a son, Jamie Heard; sister: Barbara Smart; and brothers: Larry Heard and Randy Heard.

Mr. Heard was employed by Springs Industries. Everyone that knew him, knew he a jokester and was always having fun.

Survivors include his daughter: Kelley (Barry) Perry; sister: Kay Smart; brothers: Stanley (Melba) Heard and Michael (Patricia) Heard; grandchildren: KayLynn (Jesse) Brittain, Bayleigh (Josh) Heard, Matilyn (Christopher) Weeks, Savannah Heard, Kendall (Kody) Heard and Randall Heard; great grandchildren: A.J. Brittain, Jayden Hester, Knox Weeks, Walker Johnson, and Beckett Weeks.

Committal Service was held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from Piedmont Memory Garden.   Serving as pallbearers were Bayleigh, Matilyn, Savannah, Kendall and Randal. Honorary Pallbearer was Stanley Heard.

Dansby Heritage Chapel was honored to serve the family and fulfill his wishes.
