Debra Acker Steed

DEBRA ACKER STEED, 66, of Piedmont, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. The Calhoun County native was born to James D. and Iva Lois Pruitt Acker,          who preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death were her special Father and Mother-in-law: Hubert and Hazel Steed; and an infant son, Michael Todd Steed.

 She was a loving Wife, Mother, and Nana, and quick witted until the end.  She loved to read, cross stitch, and work puzzle books. She was a devout Christian and of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years: Michael F. Steed; sons: Wesley (Blake) Steed and Cody (Brittany) Steed; chosen sister: Michele Coheley; grandchildren: Bryson Steed and Braylon Steed; sister: Susan Hannes and other siblings. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters in law, two nieces and six nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Ken Byford officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 26 from 6-8 PM at Dansby Heritage Chapel. Burial will be in Nances Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley Steed, Cody Steed, Joey Harrell, Marty Harrell, Cisco Fagan, Chism Fagan, Stacey Steed and Tim Steed. Honorary Pallbearers will be Cristi Steed and Michelle Fortenberry.
