Dewey Holcomb

Dewey Dawson Holcomb, 74, formerly of Centre, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Piedmont Health Care Center.  He was born to Dewey George and Essie Ellen McCollum Holcomb in Trion, GA.  He worked in road construction and was a member of the Methodist faith. He proudly served his country in the US Army.                                                                                                                             Survivors include his 2 daughters:  Rebecca Rhodes and Ramona (Tracy) Holmes; 2 sisters: Josephine (Billy) Pike and Johnnie Williams; grandchildren: Mitchell Rogers, Jessica Chapman, Justin Rhodes, and Brooke Franklin; and great grandchildren:  Rayleigh Rhodes, Gavin Rhodes, Lyndan Williams, Ashlynn Chapman, and Kaven Rhodes.                                                                                                                          Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 21 at 2:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Revs. Joshua Jackson and David Cox officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Garden in Centre.
Pallbearers will be Jason Kelly, Danny Kelly, Phillip Jackson, Justin Rhodes, Harold Blankenship, Robert Jones, and Chris Williams. Honorary Pallbearers  will be J. Hugh Atkinson, Bobby Kirk, and Tommy Traffenstedt.
