Dewey Clarkston McDougal

Dewey McDougal, 81, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at his East Gadsden home with his relatives around him. He was born to Newman and Emma Morgan McDougal in Rome, GA. He graduated with a degree in accounting and worked as a CPA until retiring in 2022. He proudly served in the US Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother: Bonnie McDougal.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie; son Todd (Karla); daughter Ashton (Matt); stepson Andrew Banks; stepdaughter Jennifer Christopher; sisters: Martha Chason and Robena Rustin; brother: Jim McDougal; five grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Devyn, Maya, Joseph, and Michael; cousin and best friends: Garland Parker and Hollis Martin.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Hollis Martin and Rev. Matt Rustin officiating. Music will be by Brian Jennings. Visitation will be from 12:00 -1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be John Rustin, Sayers Wilson, Matt Jennings, Tommy Dryden, Alan Heathcock, Bobby Christopher, and Robert Sosebee
