Ed Gowens

April 14, 1927 — November 13, 2014

GOWENS, ED JUNIOR, 87, of Piedmont, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Piedmont Health Care Center.  Born in Cherokee County, he was a machinist at Goodyear-Cedartown and member of Pilgrims Rest Church. He was preceded in death by his parents:  Estell and Pearl Matthews Gowens; wife:  Lessie Orene Gowens; son: Eddie Gowens;  and granddaughter: Melissa Odell.                                                                                                Survivors include his son: Terry Gowens; sisters:  Martha Ann Mathis and Bonnie Ruth Gossett: grandchildren: Brandy Sudberry, Nicole Parker, Alvin Gowens, Scottie Gowens, Chris Gowens, Shanna Young and Amanda Donnati; and 17 great grandchildren: Tyler Sudberry, Reagen Curtis, Dakota Gowens, Brady Gowens, Kenyon Gowens, Ethan Gowens, Trent Odell, Lindsey Odell, Elisa Donnati, Lucas Donnati, Jessie Young, Gavin Young, Chelsea Young, CJ Gowens, Dylan Gowens, Karly Pickett, and Emily Gowens; and 2 great, great grandchildren: Zaida and Axel Gowens.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 15 at 2:00 PM at Dansby Heritage Chapel with burial to follow in Union Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM.   Rev. Doug Matthews will officiate.  Pallbearers will be grandsons.
