Eleanor Mae Snyder

May 20, 1942 — February 2, 2024

PIEDMONT

Eleanor Mae McCurry Snyder, 81, of Piedmont, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family February 2, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel McCurry; her husband; Billy D. Snyder Sr., her 12 siblings; and her loving children, Winston Tracy Snyder and Rebecca Hope Snyder.

She enjoyed to be outside, basking in the sun, while she planted her flower beds. She was employed at the Super Value Grocery, where she worked as a cashier, enjoying the company of her friends and coworkers. She was a loving and caring mother to her children, who brought a smile to her face all the time. She was a faithful member of Grace Tabernacle church.

She is survived by her daughter: Wendy Hughes (Faron); sons: William Lytelle Snyder and Billy D. Snyder Jr. (Lacretia); grandchildren: Billy Wendell Hughes (Brittany), Douglas Snyder Hughes(Kelli), Faron Lynn Hughes, Jamie Faron Hughes, Billy D. Snyder III, and Jacob A. Snyder; Great grandchildren: Brodie Hughes, Noah Hughes and Taylor Burns.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 2:00pm at Dansby Heritage Chapel. Visitation is from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Jacksonville City Cemetery. Reverend Byrain Watts will officiate the service. The pallbearers will be Wendell Hughes, Douglas Hughes, Lynn Hughes, Faron Hughes, Micheal Bain,  Lee Racca and Jamie Hughes.

Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Snyder Family.
