Elsie Faye Gaddy

Elsie Faye Gaddy, 85, of Piedmont, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Piedmont Health Care Center. She was born in Piedmont to Odis Lamar and Hattie Clyde Stewart Minton, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her husband: Kenneth Gaddy; brother: Thomas Minton; and sisters:  Ann Boatwright, Nellie Wood, Kay Young, Carolyn Minton, and Rita Jo Parker.

Ms Gaddy was a lifetime resident of Piedmont and of the Presbyterian Faith having spent her healthy years active in Carmel Presbyterian Church. She was a textile worker retiring from Springs. Ms Elsie, as so many called her, was a loving and giving person.  Everyone loved her and she loved everyone. She loved cooking, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and spending time with family. Her favorite pastime was sitting on the front porch, drinking her coffee, and enjoying the beautiful view of Duggar Mountain and all the beautiful flowers.

She is survived by her son: Philip Gaddy; brother: Eddie (Gail) Minton; sisters: Treva (Jeff) Hanvey, Betty White, and Jeanette (Wayne) Ray; several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Ashley Penton officiating.  The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time. Burial will follow in Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Young, Rodney Parker, Barry Smallwood, Brad Hanvey, Terry Young and Paul Wood.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her honor to Piedmont Rescue Squad, PO Box 333, Piedmont, AL 36272.
