Grover Cornelius “Zeb” Baggett, 72, of Piedmont passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Born in Calhoun County to Irey Jack and Hazel Young Baggett, he was a diesel mechanic until his retirement.
He was a member of the NRA, loved guns, hunting, fishing, and the mountains…. anything outdoors. He was a great father, brother, friend, and grandfather; had a huge heart and dearly loved and spoiled his grands.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers in law: Donald Lee Crumbley, Charles Johnson, and Darrell Hall.
He is survived by his daughter: Monica Parris and her husband, Gary; brothers: Joe Paul (Shirley) Baggett and Jerry (Johnnie) Baggett; sisters: Geraldine Yazza (Delton) Calhoun, Shirley (Tommy) Woodall, Caroleen Crumbley, Sandra Johnson, and Deborah Hall; grandchildren: Justin Parris and Kayla (John) Danford; and great grandchildren: Serenity Parris and Harley Parris.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 5 – 6 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with the service to follow at 6 PM with Rev. Gregg Thurman officiating. There will be no burial as he will be cremated. The family suggests potted plants or memorials.
