Heather Darlene Craig, 30, of Piedmont, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 after making an unselfish act of organ donation so others could live. She was a free spirit, fun loving and adventurous girl who had a generous heart and compassionate soul. She never passed someone hurting without trying to help and always had a love for animals and the outdoors. Born in Jacksonville, she was a 2007 graduate of White Plains High School. She furthered her education at Gadsden State where she was on the Dean’s list and earned her degree in diesel mechanics. She was a diesel mechanic on military combat vehicles and was very proud of her accomplishments. After overcoming many obstacles in her life, she found the love of her life, Blake Hill, and they were making plans for their forever life. She finally found the happiness and peace that she had always wanted with Blake. She is preceded in death by her great grandparents: Sparks & Marie Roberts and Ed & Naomi Stephens; grandparents: LuBeth Lorriento and Marshall Roberts; and great grandparents: John D. and Maybell Powell . She is survived by her mother: Michele Roberts Craig; father: Barry (Teresa McCurdy) Craig; husband: Blake Hill; brother: Brandon Craig; sister by choice: Brittany Varner; grandparents: Kenneth and Dianne Bowman; her rescued fur baby, Sheba; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of Heather’s life will be held on Friday, December 14 at 1:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with burial to follow in Nances Creek Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12- 1 PM. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Dansby Heritage Chapel or an animal rescue site. The dress for the celebration is casual (or camouflage). They request good memories of Heather be shared.
