Thank you ALL for the text, Calls, and Prayers. It  has meant more than you know. Horace "Billy" William McGatha, 67, of Piedmont, Alabama, passed away on October 13, 2021. Born in Piedmont to Horace Edward and Margie Thacker McGatha, he was employed by SCT Yarns, the cotton mill, Springs, Garcy’s, and H.E. Haney. Billy was a die-hard Alabama fan, and he loved the Atlanta Braves. He attended Plainview Holiness Church. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Harry Lee McElwee, Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly M. Hopper; two grandchildren: Skyler and Bayley Smith; his sister, Teresa McElwee; and special nephew, Shane McElwee.

There will be memorial service at a later date honoring the life of Mr. McGatha.
