Jaylene Jones

JAYLENE HICKS JONES, 83, of Piedmont, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at her residence.  She was born in Cleburne County, AL to Johnnie H. and Opal Lee Brown Hicks, who preceded her in death.  She worked as a waitress in Piedmont many years ago.                             She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Hicks and Hubert Hicks; sister: Catherine Owens; and granddaughter: Menechia K. Coheely.                                                                    She is survived by her children: Diane Reynolds, Linda (Rickey) Holbrooks, Sandy Christopher, Craig Allen Jones, Stephen Dewayne (Sherry) Jones, Christy (Rodney C.) Hill, Sherry (David) Lapier and Wendy (Ashley) Hicks; brother: Albert Eugene Hicks; 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great, great grandchildren.

Mother

She speaks with wisdom,

and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

She watches over the affairs of her household

and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Thursday.  Burial will be in Providence Church Cemetery outside Centre. Pallbearers will be Destin Smith, Cole Smith, Wesley Coheely, Kyler Holbrooks, Gage Bailey, David Christopher, and Rickey Holbrooks.

State mandates will be followed with attendees adhering to social distancing and required masks.  Anyone with symptoms of, or tested positive for, Covid 19 are asked to stay at home for the public’s safety.
