Jerry Hugh Warren

Graveside Services for Mr. Jerry Hugh Warren, 81, of Piedmont, will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Highland Cemetery with Dansby Heritage Chapel directing and Rev. David Cox officiating. Pallbearers will be River Cox, David Cox, Chris Parris, Ryan Masters, Floyd Jennings, and Michael Kirby.  Honorary Pallbearers: Warren Rhinehart and James Sanford.

 Mr. Warren entered Heaven’s portals on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at NE AL Regional Medical Center in Anniston with his family by his side.

Born in Cherokee Co., AL, he was the last of the children born to Elbert Thomas and Murlene Downey Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: J.T. Warren and Wayne Warren; and sisters: Martha Warren Blount, Betty Warren Hallett, and Mary Warren.

Survivors include his wife: Wanda Masters Warren; son: Shannon (Melissa) Warren; daughter: Keena (David) Cox; grandchildren: Nathan Warren, Katie Warren, Hannah Cox and River Cox.

Jerry served his country in the US Air Force, and retired from Goodyear after 34 years. He had a quiet reserved demeanor and a servant’s heart. He proudly served and loved his church, Piedmont Church of God where he, for years, maintained a manicured lawn and spotless church building. His family was most important, lovingly proud of his wife, children and grandchildren. And those close to him knew he was an avid Alabama Fan.
