JEWELL LEDBETTER LIPSCOMB, 89, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016. She was a lifetime Calhoun County resident, born to Malcolm Young and Cuba Belle Harmon Ledbetter. She was employed as a spinner at Union Yarn in Jacksonville for over 40 years and a member of Profile Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: William Lipscomb; daughter: Sharon Sitzer; sister: Cordie Reedy; and brothers: Otis, Jesse, and Pelham Ledbetter. She is survived by her son: David (Mary) Lipscomb; daughters: Gail (Dennis) King, Jettie (Thomas) Harrelson, and Karen Hicks; brother: Rueben (Carol) Ledbetter; 14 grandchildren: Chad (Kem) Lipscomb, Latesha (Jason) Joiner, Derrick (Tracy) Lipscomb, Leon (Natalie) Dunaway, Kevin Dunaway, Michele (Ray) Roberson, Eddie (Freda) Stewart, Tracey Harrelson, Frances (Terry) Howell, Tommy (Sonya) Harrelson, Josh (Ashley) Hicks, Kayla Hicks, Christa Mattingly, and Ashley (Robert) Ruzicka; 19 great grandchildren: Shane (Katheryn) Lipscomb, Josh Joiner, Isaac Joiner, Hannah Joiner, Gunner Joiner, Kaylie Hale, Trent Dunaway, Kassidy Dunaway, Brandi Dunaway, DeNae Sanders, Brandi (T.J.) Stewart, Cody (Rachel) Perry, Cheyenne (Dalton) Coogler, Sherie (Zac) Robertson, Katie (Hunter) Harrelson, Cade Harrelson, Korey Haney, Destinee Wilburn, and Aria Ruzicka; and 9 great, great grandchildren: Khole Lipscomb, Avery Lipscomb, LaShawn Munford, Rebecca Winn, Nicole Stewart, DaKota Stewart, Levi Stewart, Paislee Coogler, and Trevor Robertson; and special nieces, Vicki and Anita. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the home of Jettie and Thomas Harrelson, 316 Tredegar Cove Road, Jacksonville, AL 36265. Funeral Service will be Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at 2 PM from Profile Baptist Church with Rev. James Owens and David Lipscomb officiating. Mrs. Lipscomb will lie in state for one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derrick Lipscomb, Thomas Harrelson, Ray Roberson, Josh Hicks, Tracey Harrelson, and Chad Lipscomb. Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Lipscomb Family.
