Johnnie Curtis King, 73, of Piedmont, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. The Calhoun County native was born in Anniston to Raford Paul and Myrtice Humphrey King, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Rayford King.
Mr. King served in the US Army and was a mechanic at Springs 5th Avenue. He loved his wife, “Baby”, children, and grandchildren.
He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, especially the creek life. He enjoyed visiting the Amish Country and he loved and spoiled his fur baby, Precious.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 12:00 noon at Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation from 11:00 am until funeral time. Burial will follow in White Plains Community Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife: Martha McLeroy King; three sons: Paul King, Jonathan (Karma) King, and Sonny (Tammy) Waldrop; four daughters: Melisa (Keith) Loyd, Shernaill (Jerry) Wade, Sherlana (Terry) Fortenberry, and Angie Fowler; brother: James King; sister: Carolyn (Kenneth) Walker; grandchildren: Devin Watkins, Kayla (Grant) Mason, Dawn Sisk, Jaden Sisk, Joshua Sisk, Kaeden King, Sophia King, Justin (Emily) Hamilton, Christopher (Nikki) Tubbs, Jennifer Tubbs, Brandon (Michelle) Phillips, Alex Phillips, Lorianna Fortenberry, Kane Fortenberry, Brittany Watson, Allison McFry; and great grandchildren: Melissa Tubbs, Hunter Tubbs, Kaizer Tubbs, Jasper Tubbs, Levi Brantley, Jaycie Rae McGee, McKynsie Phillips, Tanner Phillips, Terrance Watson.
