Karen "Katie" Fondren

KAREN MARLENE FONDREN, 59, of Piedmont, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at her residence.  Born in Calhoun County, she was one of seven born to Leroy and Doris Juanita Parris Fortenberry.  She worked in shipping at Springs Industries and was of the Holiness faith.                     “Katie” was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Colvin Fortenberry; and one son: Justin Kent Fondren.                                                  Survivors include sister: Mary Phillips; brothers: Norris (Barbara) Fortenberry, Randall (Sheryl) Fortenberry, Frankie (Lee Anne) Fortenberry,            Keith “Tick” (Misty) Fortenberry; one son:  Joshua Blake Fondren; and several nieces and nephews.                                                                       Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Dansby Heritage Chapel from 6-8 PM.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 4, at 2 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with burial to follow in Piedmont Memory Garden.                                                                                                       Pallbearers will be Wesley Fortenberry, Jody Fortenberry, Kevin Fortenberry, Joey Fortenberry, David Fortenberry, and James Fortenberry.                                       THE FAMILY REQUESTS ONLY SILK FLOWERS, NO LIVE FLOWERS OR GREEN PLANTS.                                                                Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Fondren Family.
