Mary Long

July 22, 1926 — January 19, 2015

MARY JONES LONG, 88 of Quitman, MS left her earthly home on Monday, January 19, 2015 at RMC Jacksonville, AL after a brief illness.  For the past 15 months, she had lived in and loved Piedmont, AL.  While in Piedmont, she enjoyed meeting new friends as she worked at Dansby Heritage Chapel. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church but attended and loved her Piedmont Church of God Family.
She was born in Aquilla, AL to Willie Van  Buren and Bettie Idell Holifield Jones,  who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her husband,  J.C.  Long;  4 brothers: Austin, Houston, Grafton, and Clifton Jones; and one sister:  Merlene Avera Ezell.                          Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21 from 6-8 PM at Dansby Heritage Chapel in Piedmont.        Funeral  Services will be held Friday, January 24 at 3 PM from Antioch Baptist Church in Clarke Co., MS.  Visitation will be from 1-3 PM at the church.                                                                        She is survived by her children: Patricia (Quenton) Bridges of Florence, MS; Barbara Rose of Bailey, MS, Jimmy (Linda) Long  of Lubbock, TX; Lynette (Jerry) Dansby  of Piedmont, AL; Tim (Debbie) Holland of Piggott, AR; grandchildren:  Dale (Wanda) Bridges, Jeff (Deanna) Bridges, Steve (Vicky) Murray, Scott (Salina) Murray, Lane (Susan) Burroughs, Mike (Candace) Rose; Chanin (Mandy) Barker ; Eric Stephens-Long; Lindsey (Cameron) Nemitz, Carolyn Speer,  Jeff Dansby, Jennifer Dansby, Scott ( Heather) Moore; 23 great grandchildren: Josh, Mandy, Christopher, Philip and Cody Bridges, Nicki (Adam) Reeves, Stephanie and Jamie Murray, Corey (Freshta) Warren, Ashley and Allen Shoemaker, Parker, Camryn and Jackson Burroughs, Addison Rose, McKenzie Barker,  Kyle and Caitlynn Stephens-Long, Morgan Brooks, Rylan McCormack, Brayden and Alexis Moore, and Naomi Nemitz; 5 great, great grandchildren: Natalee, Bryatt, and Kollin Warren, Landyn and Sebastian Shoemaker; one sister: Martha Cochran of Bay St. Louis, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the care at Piedmont Health Care Center, Dr. Ulrich, and the nurses at RMC-Jacksonville.
Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Long Family.
Directions to funeral home From Quitman Miss. Take HWY 18 East about 15 miles, turn Right on County Road 410. Look for Camp Pine Crest Sign followed by Antioch Baptist church Sign. Turn left in 1/4 mile and the Church is at the dead end.
