Michael Smith

MICHAEL RAY SMITH, 32, of Piedmont, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden.  The Calhoun County native was born to Michael Gerald and Lori Ann Lockridge Smith. He was a member of the National Rifleman’s Association, loved and collected all kinds of guns.                                                                                                                                                                                         He was preceded in death by his father: Michael Gerald Smith; grandfathers: Charles Lockridge and Robert G. Smith; and aunt: Rita Hamilton.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Survivors include his mother: Lori Tipton (Toby Romine); brother:  Anthony Tipton; grandmothers: Mae McGatha and Erma Smith; aunts: Lynn Lockridge and Teresa Almond; and lifelong best friend: Matt Stringfellow.                                                                                                                  Visitation will be Thursday, February 17 from 3 -5 p.m. at Dansby Heritage Chapel.  There will be no service and final disposition will be cremation.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Smith Family.
