MONROE LEVERN MEASLES, 75, passed away peacefully at home in Piedmont, AL on November 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was one of eight children born in Jacksonville, AL to James William and Nobie Virginia Bragg Measles. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Billy Measles (Ann), and James Measles; sisters: Agnes Glass (Glen), Joy May Petracco, Patricia Chaney, Betty Sims and Frances Measles; grandson: Christopher Turner.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda Measles; daughter: Carla Gann (Raymond); son: Shane Harrelson (Kellie Tumlin); special son: Jimmy Perez; special daughter: Chasity Evans; brother-in-law: Mo Chaney; granddaughter: Briana Parchman; granddaughter-in-law: Melissa Turner; great granddaughter: Desire “The Baby” Parchman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was known for his rabbit hunting ability and love of hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather (who loved The Baby), and uncle. He was an avid gun collector and salesman.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 29, at Dansby Heritage Chapel from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, November 30, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Timmy Smith and Thomas Smith. Pallbearers will be Bobby Coogler Jr., Jimmy Perez, Kevin Measles, James Harrelson, Stephen Glass, Darryl Glass, and Jeremy Wallace.
