Oredia Nickerson- Lyliston born April 18,1934, daughter of William and Mildred Holbrooks, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 17, 2018 in Pensacola Florida at West Florida hospital. Oredia Nickerson-Lyliston is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Herman and Charmion Twilly; her daughter and son-in law Regina and Jeff Craven, son and daughter-in-law Barry and Tonya Nickerson as well as her son and daughter in law Gary and Celeste Nickerson; eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren; and just as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother who lived life with passion for family, Alabama football (roll tide!), the Detroit Tigers baseball team and above all politics. She campaigned for George Wallace, Donald Trump and everyone in between. Her life began in Piedmont Alabama and took her from her hometown to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she had a twenty plus year career at Kelvinator then moving to Atlanta Georgia to finish her life long career in manufacturing at WestVaco Envelope. Oredia Nickerson-Lyliston was a born-again Christian who cherished her walk through life with Jesus. Her church family called her “sister Reda” and her love for all of them was often the topic of conversation. This beautiful and inspirational woman will be missed by all. Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Dansby Heritage Chapel with service on Friday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Piedmont Memory Garden. Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Nickerson-Lyliston Family.
