PHILLIP MICHAEL “Mike” SPIVEY, 72, of Piedmont, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Regional Medical Center Anniston, AL after an extended illness. He was one of two children; he was born in Gorgas, AL to Hubert Clinton and Nadine Propes Spivey Traylor, who preceded him in death.
Mike was a graduate of Wetumpka High School and was a carpenter by trade, retiring from heavy construction in the Birmingham Area. He was a very generous person who would help anyone and give the shirt off his back. He loved Alabama Football (Roll Tide) and dogs. At Christmas, which was one of his favorite times of the year, he would be generous to a fault assuring all his relatives, especially the nieces and nephews, had plenty for the day. The cousins all said he had a “good laugh”.
Survivors include his sister: Sue (Jeff) Rogers of Huntsville; nephews: Jason (Suzette) Rogers and Drew (Mackenzie) Rogers; 5 great nieces and nephews; stepmother: Patsy Spivey, and her children: Dan (Sharon) Johnson, Jim (Laura) Johnson, Jan (Charles) Dismukes, and their children; Aunts: Edna Arrington, Sandra Whiteside and Janice Spivey; Uncle: Charles Spivey and numerous cousins.
Graveside Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 12:30 P.M. from Highland Cemetery with Joey Spivey officiating. Please plan to join us for lunch immediately after the service at Piedmont First Methodist Church fellowship hall for family and friends to reminisce and share past fun times and stories with Mike. If you would prefer, in lieu of flowers and due to his big love of dogs please make a donation in memory of Mike to your local pet rescue or shelter.
Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Spivey Family.
