Phyllis Lee Hancock, 62, of Glencoe, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017. Born in Pontiac, MI, to Oaklin Paul and Mary Ruth Bolt Hancock, she moved to Alabama in 1971 and was a graduate of Glencoe High School. She was a former member of Briarwood Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff. She loved all nieces and nephews and loved watching them grow up. She was a great storyteller to them.
A special thanks to her caregiver, Arnett Nail, Physicians Choice Dialysis Clinic, Coosa Valley Nursing Home and Dansby Heritage Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Paula Jean Hancock Garmany; and special aunts: Lois Blackburn and Helen Quenby.
Survivors include her siblings: Helen (Harold) Gibbs, Patricia (Fred) Jenkins, Paul (Martha) Hancock, Phillip Hancock, and Perry Hancock; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Dansby Heritage Chapel with visitation from 12- 2 PM. Rev. Floyd Willis and Rev. Ronnie Garmany will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Glencoe. Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Hancock Family.
