Robbie Smith

ROBBIE ELIZABETH LOVE SMITH, 98, of Piedmont, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Piedmont Health Care Center.  The Calhoun County Native was born to Joseph Wheeler and Ruth Sanford Love who preceded her in death, as well as her siblings, Dan Love, Jack Love, Tony Love, Ethel Wood, and Peggy Voiles.                                                                                                                                                                             She was married to Howard L. Smith, who also preceded her in death.  She loved to paint landscapes and also enjoyed fishing, gardening and flowers.  She never had children of her own, so she enjoyed the host of nieces and nephews in her life.  She was an inspector at the Goodyear Tire Plant until she retired and was a member of Piedmont First Baptist Church where she was active for many years.                                                            She is survived by a stepson, Bill Snow and his wife, Alice, of Marietta, GA; brother: Billy Love and his wife, Virginia, of CA; sister-in-law: Ruth Love of South Pittsburgh, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.                                                                                            Funeral Service will be Friday, February 11 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Ingram officiating.  A private burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.  The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Piedmont First Baptist Church, 105 N. Main St., Piedmont, AL 36272.                                         Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Smith Family.
