Ruby Hanson

RUBY LOIS FREEMAN HANSON , 87, of Piedmont , passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013. She was an avid gardener, textile worker, loved flowers, was a ‘super good cook’, and seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Edward Hanson, Sr., who together pastored Emmanuel Holiness Church for 41 years, serving as her husband’s intercessory prayer warrior. After retiring, they attended Hughes Street Congregational Holiness Church. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dewayne Ward. Survivors include her daughters: Bobbie Ward of Jackson, TN, Sandra (Jim) Adderhold of Wedowee, AL, Martha (Lewis) Rhinehart of Rock Run, AL, and Brenda Gould of Villa Rica, GA; sons: Cecil E. (Marcia) Hanson Jr. of Piedmont, AL, Jimmy (Cyndi) Hanson of McDonough, GA, Charles (Susan) Hanson of Griffin, GA, and Dennis (Eva) Hanson of Piedmont, AL; 29 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 from Hughes Street Congregational Holiness Church with burial in Piedmont Memory Garden. Visitation will be Friday, January 11 from 5-8 PM at Dansby Heritage Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Piedmont Health Care, New Beacon Hospice and to Dr. Russell Ulrich. Dansby Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Hanson Family.
