Sheri Lynn Proctor, born on August 12, 1974, departed this life on March 5, 2025, in Rome, Georgia. A beacon of warmth and compassion, Sheri was known for her caring and outgoing personality, which endeared her to many. She possessed a nurturing spirit and often acted as a mother figure to those who loved her dearly.
She was a devoted mother to her son, Dalton Wyatt Mitchell, and cherished her family, which included her sister, Stephanie Freeman (Jesse Baker), and her adopted sister, Cindy Godfrey. Sheri took great pride in her role as an aunt to her beloved nieces, Heather Freeman, Angela Freeman (ChanQuaun Turner), and Mackinley Smith, as well as her nephew, Clayton Freeman (Lyndsey), and another nephew, Austin Fielder. Each of them held a special place in her heart.
Sheri enjoyed cooking, often bringing family and friends together around her table, crafting meals with love and care. Her ability to create joy through food was just one way she expressed her love for those around her. She also cherished the moments when she went fishing and the good memories she helped create for others who accompanied her on those trips.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Steve Proctor; her mother, Linda Gail Proctor; and her brother, Scotty Proctor. Their memory will forever be a part of her life story.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on March 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, officiating will be Mark Willingham. Both taking place at Dansby Heritage Chapel, located at 707 Southern Ave, Piedmont, AL, 36272. Burial will be held at Piedmont Memory Garden.
Pallbearers will include: ChanQuaun Turner, Clayton Freeman, Jessie Baker, Ethan Eagle, Cassius Thompsonfairs and Dontavious Jordan
Sheri Lynn Proctor leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a deep-seated connection with those she cared for throughout her life. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
