Terry Fortenberry

TERRY LEE FORTENBERRY, 74, of Piedmont, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at NE Regional Medical Center in Anniston surrounded by his loving family.

Terry was a Calhoun County native, a Longtime member of the Piedmont Rescue Squad, Odd Fellows Lodge, and Piedmont Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was a supervisor with the Calhoun County Highway Department before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents:  Dennis Floy and Pluma Mae Parris Fortenberry; sister: Darlene Bosse; and brothers in law: Gene Freeman, Clinton Justice and David Bosse.

He is survived by the love of his life: Carol Steed Fortenberry; devoted daughter: Michelle Fortenberry; special son: Jeff Rader; brothers: Albert “Dude” Fortenberry, Douglas “Alabama” (Patsy) Fortenberry, Danny Wayne Fortenberry, and Marvin Fortenberry; sisters:  Yvionne Freeman and Libby Justice; and his precious fur babies: T.J. and Peanut.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 6-8 PM at Dansby Heritage Chapel. The funeral service will be Monday, May 30 at 2:00 PM with Eddie Lindsey and Rev. Ken Byford officiating.  Burial will follow in Nances Creek Cemetery. Nephews and Nieces will serve as pallbearers.
